"Vegetarian" is the product that doesn' contain, in each phase of its production process, the use of animal products obtained by the animal sacrifice and or the animal maltreatment.
"Vegan" is the product that doesn't contain the use of any animal product (except shape of microbes).
In reality we sometimes consider proper to "vegetarians" products that are not vegetarian.
Some kind of bread, for example, include lard; or most part of curd, used for cheese, is of animal origin (comes from the veal stomach); or in the sugar production process, in the water or wine bottling system are used the supposed technological adjuvants, coming from animals.
Normally, the certification has to be applied to the agro food products obtained in a specific production unit and to the gastronomic preparations and or menu served in a specific controlled and certified cooking centre.
Certification can be applied, however, to the other Non Food products and substances answering to the requirements appointed by the current disciplinary.
This certification confirms the Icea commitment toward a sustainable and environmental growth safeguarding welfare of animals and it is connected to another new activity in collaboration with Lav, the Anti-Vivisection league: the cosmetic certification Cruelty Free, not tested on animals.
