Based on Reg EC 1235/08 of 8 December 2008, each Certification Body (CB) working in Third Countries, in order to issue valid “certificates of inspection” for the import of certified organic products in EU, must be accredited and recognised by the EU Commission.
ICEA, famous for the international activities, was one of the first Certification Bodies (CB) to apply to the EU Commission for the recognition, sending all the required forms.
Based on the new situation, ICEA has adopted, together with the other ACB (Accredited Certification Bodies), an international standard (Equivalent European Union Organic Production & Processing Standard for Third Countries – 2009) perfectly in equivalence to the EU Regulations about organic agriculture.
The standard, clear and well organised, become the accurate point of reference for all the companies certified by ICEA in Third Countries that want to export their organic certified products to EU.
The standard will be sent in a short time to all the ICEA certified companies in Third Countries, but it is also immediately available in English on this website.
