From extra virgin olive oil to honey, always under the sign of best international organic production: Biol Miel is born, a happening that is introducing the Biol Prize model – the international event that since thirteen editions let compete in Apulia (Italy) the best extra virgin organic olive oils in the world – to honey sector. Something that is actually a very topical subject due to the slow disappearing of bees, linked first of all to the use of pesticides in agriculture.
Scenery of the event will be Sicily, in Castelbuono (Palermo), were from 4 to 7 of December will take place the first international competition for honey, with tasting, conferences, exhibitions, and cultural and gastronomic events with organic products.
Collection, evaluation and selection of honey is taken care by CRA – Research Unit for Beekeeping and Silk Worms Breeding of Bologna (Italy). The event is organized by Biol Prize (that takes care also of the secretariat) and ICEA – Ethical and Environmental Certification Institute, in cooperation with the township of Calstelbuono and CRA.
