Eco Detergent Certification and Eco Organic Detergent Certification are voluntary certifications of a product issued by ICEA on the basis of product and productive processes’ compliance control according to the requirements of the Code of Conduct for the Eco and Organic Detergents.
ICEA has launched a regulation project of the detergent sector which up to this day has developed a code of conduct shared by the stakeholders engaged in the production, commercialization, and consumption of these products.
The main requirements that the standard aim to guarantee are:
Products stated as Eco Organic Detergent are obtained using vegetable raw materials coming from organic cultivations or from conventional crops certified according the Reg. CE 834/07 (or other international regulations of reference, as for example NOP, JAS, COR, etc.).
For products stated as Eco Detergent the use of products derived from non-organic farming is allowed on the condition that they are not derived from Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) or derived from GMOs (in the case of products “at-risk”, that are present in the market as GMO like corn, soy, rapeseed, etc, it is required to have a voluntary certification of the product issued by an accredited third entity).
