Many cosmetics producers are proposing products that, even if not containing organic ingredients, claim different “natural” characteristics.
Therefore, the main goal of this standard is to:
establish clear and variable correlating requirements between natural raw materials;
guarantee products and processes that respect human health and the conservation of the environment;
identify on the market a cosmetic product that satisfy also the expectations of consumers that care about the environmental sustainability of products.
Physical and chemical processes have been carefully selected taking into account the following core criteria:
processes that allow for the formation of biodegradable molecules;
processes that respect natural functional substances that are present in the ingredients;
processes that favour the good management of wastes and of energy and keep into account the ecological balance.
